I've had some major issues with my computer beginning in May - suddenly blue screens and freezing telling me that obviously something wasn't willing to work correctly anymore. So I exchanged almost all of the hardware, mainboard, harddrive discs, RAM modules, then Windows 7 with all it's drivers and countless updates, but nothing helped, still blue screens. The last thing was the graphics card - thankfully I had an old one still working good, and that it was obviously, now the machine is stable again, Windows 7 and all hardware components work. I re-installed all my programs and little helpers and it took so much time but I could continue working on my current projects.
But my decision (and the money) was there to buy me a new machine with up to date hard and software. I was glad to have a back up working machine in any case the setup of the new machine would be an odyssee as with the old one. I bought all components and built it together alone, only with the help of one of my dance collegues. It took half a day to have the new machine complete including Win8 - Friday evening 14th of June - yesterday I could render my first image in DAZ Studio 4.6, today my first render in Poser Pro 2014. I now have an Intel Core I7 4770K @3.5 GHz processor with water cooling, 32 GB DDR3 RAM, a 512 GB SSD Hard Drive for the system and main programs, a 2 TB Sata Hard Drive for backups, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770 graphics card and Windows 8 Pro 64 bit as the system software.
So hopefully I can continue now with my projects without any more delays. :)

I ordered a GTX 770 at first as well, but then a wonderfull sale came by that offered me a GTX 780 for almost the same price. I retruned the 770 and I am now the proud owner og a 780 :D I have the same cpu (i7-4770k and managed to overclock it to 4500MHz with an aircooler EVO 212) but only 20 rams at this point as the ram prices have gone skyrocket since last year >>
It's nice to be able to plop anything onto your scene and the pc is content with anything you throw at it.
Take care and as they say: happy rendering ^^
